California’s Purple Heart Patriots met in Bakersfield for the 87th annual Department Convention.  Amid an ever-shrinking demographic, members from active chapters came together to address important issues facing the Department and the Order.  The Department Auxiliary remains strong and continues to give support despite the problems facing the Order.  Elections were held by both groups and new officers were welcomed to the leadership.  The next meeting will be the Department Mid-term Conference in October at the same location
