Commander David Jackson
Department of California

2020 - 2021

I am both humbled and honored to once again represent the Department of California, Military Order of the Purple Heart as your Commander. I thank you for your continued support. One of my primary goals is to improve the communication between the leadership and Patriots. So many things are occurring, and it is crucial that everyone is kept informed. These are challenging times for the Order, which can have an impact on how our Department conducts its business. That said, we will dot our I’s and crossed our T’s to ensure we are doing our absolute best for the Patriots of the Department of California, the Auxiliary, and the veterans that we serve.

I will continue the open and transparent relationship with our Auxiliary, as they are the backbone of our organization. We will continue to include them in our decision-making process as we have done in the past.

This continues to be a challenging year for us all. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the NEC has voted to postpone our National Convention until September. However, we have no idea if interstate travel along with other restriction will be advisable even then. We will just have to wait and see. Due to the restrictions that remain in place regarding social distancing, we will continue to utilize Zoom meetings until further notice.

Lastly, I encourage everyone to continue recruiting and increase our post 911 veteran membership. We have our work cut out for us. Let’s continue to work together.

The Department of California, Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH), USA, Inc. has developed this website to serve our members, promote patriotism and assist all veterans and the public with information about our Order, the programs we offer and the assistance we seek to provide to all veterans of this great nation.
